No. Due to autism being a neurodevelopmental disorder (meaning symptoms are present at a young age), it is preferred to have someone present who is familiar with your behaviors around ages 4-5 years old. However, modifications can be made to inform diagnosis. 

There are several reasons medical providers request psychological clearances. A few common reasons are that your insurance requires it, they want to ensure you have adequate support, and to determine behavioral contra-indictations to surgery
